The 24th Annual Sterling Awards

Last evening Edmonton celebrated an evening of theatre. The Sterling Awards a.k.a Edmonton's Tony Awards, was one hell of a night!

I found it very exciting to see so many different theatre circles in the same room! Holy beautiful/talented people, Batman!

On to the actual awards!

Northern Light Theatre's 4th Graders absolutely cleaned up last night, winning Outstanding supporting actress, Outstanding supporting Actor, Outstanding direction of a play, and last but not least, Outstanding PRODUCTION OF A PLAY!

I screamed a little when Best Play was announced! One of my personal favourites of the season, NLT's 4th Graders was up against three major plays from the Citadel Theatre. The 4th Graders Present An Unnamed Love-Suicide was presented in Studio B of the TransAlta Arts Barn. It sat around 35 audience members per show, where August: Osage County sat around 681. Talk about the little show that could!
Congrats to my pals Kayla, Cole and the rest of the amazing cast and crew of 4th Graders!

More Sterling Award news to come!!!
